    The Position

    Job purpose

    Responsibilities & Accountability

    As Enabling Team Member:

  • As Medical Director:

    VACC Leadership and member of the Medical Affairs team:

  • Develop and consolidate a highly motivated, ethic, science driven, competent, collaborative, empowered, purpose connected, innovative and effective team.
  • Committed to transform clinical practice to allow optimal and personalized healthcare, advocating for patients, for medical progress and universal healthcare access.
  • Driving the introduction, uptake and use of our innovative medicines and services in clinical practice and patient care, especially through high quality scientific education, data generation, medical information/communication and customer/patient medically oriented solutions.
  • Being a trusted partner and a central interface with the healthcare ecosystem.
  • Embedding real patient and healthcare ecosystem perspectives across Roche enabling the delivery of an extraordinary experience.
  • Accountable for:

  • Affiliate evidence generation portfolio management needed to enhance product knowledge and anticipate/support patient access according to the local needs and in line with global strategy.
  • PAA/CU programs, aligned with Roche policies and SOPs.
  • Oversights and collaborate to accomplish medical compliance related activities, according
  • to Roche policies, SOPs and local regulations.
  • Represents Roche medical voice with key external stakeholders
  • Connecting key stakeholders and promoting co-creation.
  • Contributing to stakeholder engagement strategy on above franchise level.
  • Media communications of medical topics/issues.
  • As Disease Area Strategy Medical Enabler:

  • Ensure that the Cross Country Disease Area Teams achieve the best possible outcomes in their areas by fostering an environment of collaboration, co-creation and agile ways of working, ensuring a strategic customer centric execution.
  • Embody servant leadership, developing all CCST members through coaching and feedback, collaborating with functional leadership to share feedback and ensure optimal success for all team members.
  • As a Roche employee:

  • Understand and respect all programs, procedures and instructions related to SHE, PV, corporate and healthcare compliance (this includes reporting incidents and informing your immediate superior and / or the corresponding area as appropriate).
  • Requirements:

  • Medical degree is required. Certification in a medical specialty is valuable.
  • Extensive experience in the medical function of the biotechnology / pharmaceutical industry
  • Product development experience
  • Strong track record in strategic planning and implementation of key Medical affairs activities in data generation, scientific communications, medical education and external stakeholder management and cooperation
  • Clinical and post-marketing drug safety and risk management
  • External stakeholders engagement (incl. TAE, patient association, collaborative groups, Health authorities, payers)
  • Experience in product launches
  • Leadership

  • Strong creative leadership style attributes.
  • Successful track record of people leadership including in the matrix organization, and managing through others
  • Managing high-performing teams
  • Change management
  • Public speaking and presenting to large audiences
  • In-depth understanding of medical and strategic aspects of all drug development stages
  • In-depth understanding of medical strategies including integrated evidence generation (early phases to post marketing), knowledge sharing and scientific collaborations
  • In depth understanding of the medical compliance framework (GCP/GVP) , Health
  • Care Compliance and Quality management

  • In depth understanding of the local health care system, including regulatory and payer environment
  • Business and financial acumen
  • Fluency in English language, oral and written.
